  Forensics is not just one field of study but encompasses several different
disciplines. You first decision is to determine which area most interests you.

If you would like to work in a crime lab doing analysis of DNA or drug testing, you
need a bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology or closely related field.

If your interest is in crime scene investigation, a bachelor's degree in law
enforcement is required.

A general science degree is acceptable if you want to test firearms or examine
documents.
